Conf.ing. Silviu RĂILEANU a obținut diploma de inginer în domeniul Ingineria Sistemelor și Calculatoarelor în anul 2005 în cadrul Universității Politehnica din București (UPB). Doi ani mai tarziu a obținut diploma de master în specialitatea Sisteme cu Arhitectură Deschisă (UPB). A beneficiat în 2005 de o bursă Socrates la Universite de Valenciennes et Hainaut-Cambresis. În 2011 a definitivat teza de doctorat în cotutelă între Universitatea Politehnica Bucuresti (RO) și Universite de Valenciennes et du Hainaut Cambresis (FR). Este implicat în activități didactice în cadrul Facultatății de Automatică și Calculatoare atât în ciclul de licență, la materia Sisteme de Conducere a Fabricației, cât și la master unde este responsabil de cursurile Sisteme Multi-agent pentru Controlul Intreprinderii, Gestiunea Lanțurilor de Aprovizionare si Logistica. De asemenea, desfasoara activitati de cercetare stiintifica si aplicata in domeniile control distribuit si heterarhic al sistemelor cu evenimente discrete, planificarea si alocarea resurselor in sisteme flexibile de fabricatie, robotică și vedere artificială.
