Grigore Stamatescu a absolvit Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti in anul 2009 si a obtinut titlul de doctor (2012) de la aceeasi universitate. Este in prezent conferentiar universitar (Habil. 2019) la Departamentul de Automatica si Informatica Industriala, Facultatea de Automatica si Calculatoare, UPB. Domeniile sale de cercetare includ sistemele embedded interconectate, Internet of Things si prelucrarea distribuita a informatiei in industrie, mediul construit si aplicatii smart city. Rezultate recente obtinute au inclus metode de invatare statistica pentru predictie si detectia anomaliilor pentru consumul energetic al cladirilor si modelarea bazata pe date a sistemelor de fabricatie, cu accent pe eficienta energetica. A publicat peste 100 de articole indexate. Dr. Stamatescu a fost Fulbright Visiting Scholar 2015-2016 la Universitatea din California, Merced si JESH Scholar al Academiei Austriece de Stiinte in anul 2019. Este membru senior al IEEE, activand ca chair al capitolului romanesc as IEEE Robotics and Automation (RAS), precum si membru al comitetului IFAC TC 3.3.
