Description

‍Automation and informatics are present in our daily life without even realizing it most of the time; they change our lives for better or for worse. Our students aim at becoming excellent programmers, professionals able to integrate software, hardware, and control aspects in reliable applications and systems. However, is it enough in today’s world? Our concern is that they also become responsible and aware of the impact produced on end users, society, climate, and available resources. The topics to be discussed include but are not limited to:
– Sustainable Computing and Energy Consumption
– Artificial Intelligence and System Self-adaptation
– Risk Assessment in Automation and Intelligent Systems
– Cybersecurity and Socio-Technical Systems

This summer school brings together students interested in automation, applied informatics, and intelligent systems, with specialists from academia and industry, within a series of hybrid lectures and workshops, optionally followed by individual projects. We wish to tackle the problems and the technical solutions that are also responsible from multiple points of view.
